An alarming discovery was made at the Hoyland Elementary School in Houston when a janitor was charged and arrested after he allegedly installed hidden cameras in the staff bathroom.

Erik Fernando Carreon, 41, was caught by police and confronted with the evidence of having set up two cameras in the staff restrooms. Upon interrogations, Carreon confessed to having made the installations and was taken into custody with a $10,000 bond and a declined PR bond.

Spring ISD’s Immediate Action

The Spring Independent School District took a quick and decisive action as soon as the incident was reported. Unlike Carreon having no prior record of arrests or convictions, the district immediately identified a suspect, terminated them from their position and arranged for an arrest.

Harris County Pct. 5 Constable’s Office collaborated with the district for thorough investigations within the campus. An Electronic Detection K9 was also brought in to scour for other devices, of which none were found.

The school also arranged a staff meeting to brief the teachers and staff followed by a letter of acknowledgement being sent to parents and faculty.

District’s “No Tolerance” Policy For Such Violations

In acknowldegement to the parasitic incident, the district expressed their zero tolerance in such matters, especially those that could directly impact the safety, privacy, and well-being of their students and instructional personnel.

Spring ISD proudly expressed the swifness of its staff and police department for bringing an immediate resolution to the incident.
